About

Hi! I’m Linda and I am a climate scientist who took the scenic route through the Dutch education system — and I’m proud of it. I started out at the vocational level and worked my way up, eventually earning a double master’s degree, completing an honours programme, and graduating with a PhD magna cum laude. That journey taught me to think across different levels and perspectives, and it shaped my approach to science: with persistence, curiosity, and a lot of enthusiasm.

My research focuses on climate and atmospheric science, especially extreme weather events and how they are influenced by climate change. I enjoy diving into these complex topics and making sense of how weather and climate interact — both in models and in the real world.

This website is a space where I share what I know and what I’m working on, in a way that’s open, clear, and grounded in science. From research insights to accessible explainers, I aim to make climate science more approachable — for fellow researchers, students, and curious minds alike.

Outside of work, I’m happiest spending time with my family. I’m a proud mum, and those everyday moments at home keep me grounded and smiling.
